Allergens & Food Safety Disclaimers

 

ALLERGENS

As the majority of our food is packaging-free, nearly all allergens can be found in Katy the Van. This may be the product itself or traces due to the decanting/transportation/manufacturing process.

To try and limit any cross-contamination we use different scoops, funnels and dispensers for all of the products. We further try to limit any contamination in the storage room by keeping the products apart as best we can with the limited space available!

We would advise that if you suffer from a life-threatening allergy, you should continue to buy your products appropriately packaged, rather than at a refill service. But ultimately, the decision is down to you.

FOOD SAFETY

All food containers are filled in a hygienic environment and washed before use. They are also washed in between refills of different batch numbered products.

Please ensure that your own containers are completely clean and dry before presenting them to be filled. We cannot take responsibility for any product once it has been taken out of our containers. We also cannot put any products back into a dispenser from a customer's container for hygiene reasons.

All products containing allergens will have an asterisk on their label on the big container. Details regarding allergens and ingredients are also listed under each product on our website.

TRAINING & COMPLIANCE

Raichel has completed a Food Safety Training Course at Level 2, to ensure that we follow best practices and comply with all of the regulations in terms of food safety, hygiene and allergens. We are registered as a food business with the local Environmental Health Agency, which means that both the food storage area and the van are subject to regular inspections.

We are delighted to have been awarded Hygiene Rating Level 5 by Hinckley & Bosworth Council!
