Citric Acid
60p per 100g
Citric acid is a useful natural cleaning product. You can mix it with hot water to create a cleaning spray, use it to clean stained toilets, use as a kettle de-scaler, clean windows and mirrors and much more. There’s lots of information available on the internet or see our Facebook posts for handy tips!
Always rinse whatever you are cleaning really well as the citric acid will leave a sticky residue otherwise. Rinse the nozzle after use if you have it in a spray bottle.

Natural Bleach - Percarbonate of Soda
70p per 100g
Also known as oxygen bleach, Percarbonate of Soda is a safe and non-toxic, biodegradable alternative to harsh chlorine bleach. When dissolved in water it releases oxygen which acts as a powerful stain remover, deodoriser and disinfectant.
Directions:
Stain remover : Use 2-4 tablespoons in a bowl of warm water as a pre-soak to remove stains before washing the garments as normal. As a stain-removal booster, add 2 tablespoon (or 4 tablespoons for tougher stains) to the laundry powder in your washing machine dispenser drawer to brighten whites and eliminate odours.
General cleaner and disinfectant: To make the solution - Add 4 tablespoons in 1 Litre of hot water. Brilliant to clean ovens, bins and toilets. For wood: brush with the solution, wait for 10 to 15 minutes then brush again and rinse well. For Stone: Apply solution and rinse well particularly on limestone, marble slabs, etc. (solution only remains active for about 7 hours).
To unblock and clean a sink drain: Pour 2-3 tablespoons in the hole of your sink, add boiling water on top. Wait few minutes and rinse.
Ingredients: Sodium carbonate peroxyhydrate > 90% made with soda crystals added to hydrogen peroxide. These components are resulting from natural raw materials (salt, water, chalk).
Safety Note:
May intensify fire; oxidiser. Harmful if swallowed. Causes serious eye damage.

Washing Soda - Sodium Carbonate refills
24p per 100g
If you're a big fan of the Dri-Pak soda crystals, these are their plastic-free equivalent. Same product, just more finely ground, which actually makes them even easier to use. I use at least 2 jam jars full each week!
I put them in with my washing to help soften the water . They are also good for a regular clean of your washing machine.
Plus they are also great for sinks that are slow to drain.
See this handy guide from sustainable living guide Moral Fibres for other uses.
Ingredients: 99.5% Sodium Carbonate.
Safety Note: Causes serious eye irritation. Wear gloves whilst using this product.
